New online certificate program in Design Ethnography @ Boise State University

The Boise State University College of Innovation and Design, in partnership with the BSU Department of Anthropology, has announced a new online certificate program in Design Ethnography beginning in Spring 2017. The Design Ethnography Certificate aims to help prepare students for emerging careers in user research, user experience (UX), service design, product design, branding, marketing, and organizational innovation. The certificate is a 12 credit interdisciplinary and experiential program open to all Boise State University undergraduate students.

Courses required to complete the certificate include:

  • Ethnography at the Speed of Industry
  • Ethical Ethnography
  • Asking and Listening
  • Observer Toolkits
  • Just Enough Research
  • Ethnography and User-Centered Design
  • Planning Productive Fieldwork
  • Going Deeper With Theory
  • Lean and Rapid Reporting
  • Design Ethnography Capstone
